OTTAWA (Reuters) - Canada is ready to do its part to provide funds to help poor countries combat climate change, and will also work with the United States to align environmental plans, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said on Friday.
In a statement from Copenhagen at the end of climate talks, he said: "Canada is prepared to contribute our fair share of financial support, particularly to the poorest and most vulnerable nations."
Harper added: "Canada is working to align our clean energy and climate change policies with those of the Obama administration. This approach recognizes the high degree of integration of our two economies."
