Opalis Signs Deal to Help NIBC Deliver IT Process Automation for Business-Critical Windows Enterprise

Opalis Software, Inc., the leading provider of Run Book Automation
(RBA) software that orchestrates, integrates, and automates IT
operational processes, today announced it has signed an agreement with
NIBC, a leading merchant bank focused on the mid-cap segment in
Western Europe. The agreement calls for an enterprise-wide site
license of Opalis' IT process automation software. According to Opalis
CEO Todd DeLaughter, "NIBC has had such early success using Opalis'
technology to automate a set of key processes, the bank now plans to
expand these automation capabilities to additional business-critical
processes across the entire Windows infrastructure, which supports
NIBC's banking business."

Opalis IT process automation software provides out-of-the-box
support for automating dozens of IT workflows. The software enables
customers to modify pre-defined workflows to fit their specific
environment or create new workflows using an easy graphical user
interface-(GUI) based process designer. No coding knowledge or
scripting is required. Opalis software compliments existing systems
management products. The company provides Integration Packs for more
than 25 major IT management and provisioning products on the market
today.

Analyst firm Gartner covered the topic of RBA in its July 5, 2006,
"Run Book Automation: The Drivers and Inhibitors" report, authored by
David Williams. Opalis is listed as an emerging vendor in the report.
The report states, "Run book automation promises to provide a new way
to manage IT, providing a better, more efficient way to address
businesses concerns."(1)

"NIBC uses Opalis' technology to coordinate and monitor a number
of business and IT-related processes in an automated fashion. The type
of processes range from daily simple disk backups to the automation of
mark-to-market procedures within our trading applications," said Paul
Kemp, Vice President of ICT for NIBC. "If an unexpected event occurs,
the schemas we've set up with Opalis can trigger certain actions
either to resolve the issue or to notify our staff that an
intervention is necessary. Without Opalis we'd need to employ
additional operating staff and manual intervention in processes
represents an increase in operational risk. Opalis helps us to reduce
this risk and enables us to automate our critical processes across our
Windows platform."

"There's a wave of great interest building in the market today
around the idea of automating IT processes in order to deliver better
service levels and to reduce errors and manual effort," added
DeLaughter. "IT organizations want solutions that can deliver the
automation now. We're in a perfect position to serve them. NIBC saw
the power of Opalis Software and didn't hesitate to take the lead into
the automation age. This is what thought leading companies do -- they
see an opportunity and act."

KSC Software & Services BV is Opalis' Netherlands-based partner
who helped enable NIBC, as well as many other major corporations in
the Benelux market.
