Xyratex Ltd. (NASDAQ:XRTX), a leading provider of storage systems
for OEMs and Solution Integrators, today announced that DVS Digital
Video Systems GmbH will integrate Xyratex's F5402E FC-SAS/SATA RAID
system into selected products from its line of Film/HD Post Production
solutions.
DVS Digital Video Systems GmbH is a leading international provider
of a wide range of high-end video turnkey workstations. The company
utilizes a variety of different storage systems in its range of
post-production solutions and will now integrate the F5402E into its
latest generation storage solution, the DVS-SAN. The DVS-SAN is a
central data storage repository for uncompressed video and digital
film. It is designed for use in film and HD post production
environments, where large amounts of data must be accessed in real
time by multiple workstations.
The Xyratex F5402E RAID array is a 2U, 12-drive FC-to-SAS/SATA
subsystem that provides 4 Gb FC connectivity. When fully expanded, it
supports up to 60 SAS or SATA disk drives. The F5402E will be
integrated into the DVS-SAN and will then undergo thorough quality
control and integration testing in Xyratex's world-class manufacturing
and integration facilities to ensure the highest level of quality and
performance.
