MainConcept, a leading provider of codecs and video technology,
announced today that it has released a DVCPro add-on to its existing
MPEG Pro HD plug-in for Adobe Premiere Pro. The add-on enhances
MainConcept's MPEG Pro(TM) HD software by adding the ability to
import, edit and export DV, DVCPRO 25, DVCPro 50 and DVCPro HD video
from within Adobe Premiere Pro. The add-on also adds support for the
Panasonic's P2 camcorder format, including multichannel audio.
"Adobe Premiere Pro is one of the most popular editing packages in
the market today", said Markus Moenig, founder and CEO of MainConcept,
"but with the popularity of DVCPro HD and the Panasonic P2 camcorder,
customers have not had the ability to import, natively edit and export
in the DVCPro format using Premiere Pro. We are proud to release this
new technology to give video editors the flexibility to work with the
DVCPro format and the Panasonic P2 camcorder directly from within
their favorite editing application."
The DVCPro add-on supports importing and exporting in the AVI, DIF
and MXF (SMPTE 383M - clip wrapped) file formats. The software also
includes a special importer for XML files that describes the relation
between video and audio MXF files (one file per channel). This
function enables users to quickly import corresponding audio and video
files. Using the MXF export feature, users can generate a P2 style
folder structure (virtual P2 device) that includes MXF video/audio,
XML files and thumbnail bitmaps. It is even possible to add clips to
an existing P2 style folder.
The DVCPro add-on is available in two versions. The SD version
supports DV (IEC-61834), DVCPRO 25 and DVCPRO 50 (SMPTE 314M) and can
be purchased for USD 379.99. The HD version adds support for DVCPRO HD
(SMPTE 370M) and is available for USD 519.99. Both add-ons are
available for online purchase and instant download from the
MainConcept website, www.mainconcept.com.
