In the afternoon, the President will continue to make the case for the Buffett Rule in interviews with four local television anchors and appeal to the Senators from those states to support the proposal when it comes to the floor of the Senate on Monday. The President will sit down with anchors from WCMH in Columbus, OH; KCRG in Cedar Rapids, IA; KMOV in St. Louis, MO; and KOLO in Reno, NV.
The Buffett Rule is a simple principle for fairness that ensures that millionaires pay at least the same effective tax rate as middle class families pay.
The President believes in standing up for the middle class and making our tax system fairer, where everyone plays by the same set of rules, in order to ensure the economic security of the middle class. In the evening, the President will meet with senior advisors in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.
