China indicts former senior provincial official for graft

BEIJING (Reuters) - China has indicted the former Communist Party boss of the northern province of Hebei on suspicion of bribery, a prosecutor said on Thursday.

Zhou Benshun was subject to "coercive measures", the prosecutor added, which normally refers to detention. Zhou was sacked in July.

State television first reported this news on its microblog.
