American transport plane crashes in Afghanistan - U.S. official

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - An American C-130 transport plane crashed at Jalalabad airport in Afghanistan around midnight local time (1930 GMT Thursday), a U.S. defence official said on Thursday.

The status of passenger members and crew on the plane was unknown, the official said.
