BEIJING (Reuters) - A mosque under construction in northwest China has collapsed, killing at least seven people with others possibly buried under the rubble, Xinhua news agency said on Friday.
The accident happened on Thursday in a town in Qinghaiprovince which is home to more than 18,000 Muslim ethnic Huipeople, Xinhua said.
"About 20 people received injuries of different degrees andthe casualties may increase as more people could be buried inthe debris," Xinhua quoted rescuers as saying.
An investigation into the accident, which happened just afew days before the building was due to be completed, was underway.
