LA PAZ (Reuters) - At least 46 people died in Bolivia on Tuesday when a truck loaded with goods and peasants lurched off a mountainous highway and fell nearly 1,000 feet (300 meters), local media reported.
This was the worst traffic accident in Bolivia so far thisyear, injuring at least 11 people and counting several childrenamong the dead.
"The truck was loaded with 60 people who were sitting ontop of their loads, which crushed them when the truck fell,"Erbol radio reported.
The accident took place in Yocalla, a town in southernBolivia nearly the mining city of Potosi.
