Suicide blast hits foreign forces in Afghanistan

KABUL (Reuters) - A suicide car bomber targeted a convoy of foreign troops on Wednesday in southern Afghanistan, police said.

The attack happened on a road leading to Spin Boldak, atown near the border with Pakistan, said border policecommander Abdul Razaq, adding he had no information aboutcasualties among the troops.

"I saw smoke coming out of an armoured vehicle and woundedsoldiers were shifted to other vehicles," Mohammad Yousuf, aresident of Spin Boldak who witnessed the incident, toldReuters by telephone.

Both NATO and U.S.-led coalition forces operate in Kandaharprovince, a bastion for Taliban insurgents.
