Somali gunmen kidnap Danish U.N. workers

MOGADISHU (Reuters) - Somali gunmen kidnapped two Danish United Nations workers in the Bakool region of southern Somalia on Saturday, residents said.

"Heavily armed Islamists attacked Hudur town. The Islamiststhen kidnapped two Danish men working for Mine Action (U.N.)who were giving seminars on clearing land mines," residentFarah Ismail told Reuters.

Kidnapping is a lucrative business in Somalia, and hostagesare normally treated well in anticipation of large ransoms.
