ROME (Reuters) - A 64-year-old woman set herself on fire close to Italy's presidential palace in Rome on Thursday, in what local media said was a failed suicide attempt to draw attention to claims of medical malpractice.
Marianna Randazzo was immediately rescued by policestanding guard nearby and was hospitalised in a seriouscondition with burns on half of her body, according to theCorriere della Sera newspaper.
Her illness was not immediately clear, but Corriere saidshe left behind detailed claims of botched medical care whichwas being reviewed by investigators.
