KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (Reuters) - An explosion was heard in southern Afghanistan close to the border with Pakistan on Monday, witnesses said, but it was not immediately clear what had caused it and if there were any casualties.
The blast shook the town of Spin Boldak, a main bordercrossing with Pakistan.
It came a day after more than 100 people were killed in asuspected suicide raid outside the city of Kandahar andcoincided with delayed parliamentary elections in Pakistan onMonday.
Spin Boldak is in Kandahar province.
