KABUL (Reuters) - Suicide bombers targeted a compound housing Afghan and foreign troops and civilians early Saturday in Afghanistan's normally peaceful Panjshir province, Afghan and foreign officials said.
A spokesman for the International Security Assistance Force confirmed that an "insurgent suicide attack" took place at the Provincial Reconstruction Team base, and said there were no foreign casualties.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
Deputy provincial Governor Abdul Rahman Kabiri and Panjshir Provincial Police Chief Qaseem Junglebagh said four men took part in the early-morning attack.
