Magnitude 5.3 earthquake strikes Japan's Hokkaido island - USGS

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck Japan's northern Hokkaido island at a shallow depth of 1 mile Wednesday, 82 miles southeast of Sapporo, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
