Bomb in Pakistani city Quetta kills at least 10

QUETTA, Pakistan (Reuters) - A bomb exploded near a government compound in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta Wednesday, killing at least 10 people, a police official said.

The official said he suspected it was a suicide bombing. Pakistan's Taliban militants, who are close to al Qaeda, often carry out suicide bombings as part of a campaign designed to topple the U.S.-backed government.
