NEW YORK (Reuters) - Credit Suisse Group AG disclosed on Friday that it is the target of a criminal investigation by the U.S. Justice Department into offshore private banking.
In a statement released from its Zurich headquarters, the bank said that on Thursday it had "received a letter notifying it that it is a target of the DOJ investigation."
The investigation, it said, "concerns historical Private Banking services provided on a cross-border basis to U.S. persons."
