Earthquake hits northwestern Japan, no tsunami warning issued

TOKYO (Reuters) - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.5 hit central Japan on Thursday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

The epicentre of the earthquake was in Nagano prefecture, the agency said, adding that no tsunami warning had been issued.
