U.S. fighter jet crashes in Libya - U.S. command

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. Air Force F-15E fighter jet crashed in Libya overnight and one crewmember has been recovered and the other is "in the process of recovery," a spokesman for the U.S. military Africa Command said on Tuesday.

The crash was likely caused by mechanical failure and not hostile fire, the spokesman, Vince Crawley, told Reuters.
