Russia's Raspadskaya mine director resigns-source

MOSCOW (Reuters) - The director of Russia's Raspadskaya mine has resigned, a source told Reuters on Tuesday, after Prime Minister Vladimir Putin called on him to step down over a mine disaster that killed 66 people.

The source who has detailed knowledge of the matter but who asked not to be named said that Igor Volkov had signed a letter of resignation. A spokeswoman for the mine did not pick up her phone when called for comment on the report.
