Earthquake kills 5 in eastern Turkey

ISTANBUL (Reuters) - A strong earthquake of 6 magnitude killed five people in the eastern Turkish village of Okcular in Elazig province early Monday, the provincial governor told broadcaster CNN Turk.

Turkey's Kandilli earthquake observatory said the quake measured 6.0 magnitude and had its epicentre at Basyurt-Karakocan and struck at 4:32 am local time (2:32 a.m. British time).
