Nigerian police say Islamic sect leader captured

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria (Reuters) - Nigerian security forces captured the leader of a radical Islamic sect responsible for days of clashes which have killed more than 180 people, police in the northern state of Borno said on Thursday.

"Mohammed Yusuf has been arrested. He is now at the Giwa barracks," Borno state police commissioner Christopher Dega told reporters.
