WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called on Monday for the "speedy release" by Iran of imprisoned Iranian-American journalist Roxana Saberi, who has been sentenced to eight years in jail on spying charges.
"She has been subjected to a process that has been nontransparent, unpredictable, arbitrary," Clinton told reporters. "We hope that actions will be taken as soon as possible by the authorities in Iran, including the judiciary, to bring about the speedy release of Miss Saberi and her return home."
