MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier underlined the importance of ending fighting in eastern Ukraine immediately during a telephone call on Wednesday, Russia's Foreign Ministry said.
In a statement, the ministry said the two ministers "stressed the importance of an immediate cessation of hostilities in east Ukraine and especially the shelling of villages and civilian infrastructure".
