Wall Street extends losses as Nasdaq falls 3 percent



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks slipped on Monday as disheartening corporate earnings news further battered investor sentiment and retailers fell on worries about Christmas sales.

    * Apple and Google were among the top drags on the Nasdaq. Apple dropped 5.3 percent to $85.20 and Google fell 5.5 percent to $293.20.

    * The Dow Jones industrial average fell 133.25 points, or 1.55 percent, at 8,445.86. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index dropped 23.86 points, or 2.69 percent, at 864.02. The Nasdaq Composite Index slipped 51.81 points, or 3.31 percent, at 1,512.51.
