AT&T says to cut about 12,000 jobs


    (Reuters) - AT&T Inc announced on Thursday it plans to cut approximately 12,000 jobs, or about 4 percent of the company's total workforce.

    Highlights:

    * Says will take a charge of approximately $600 million in the fourth quarter

    of 2008
