Stocks open up on Fed commercial paper move



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks opened higher on Tuesday after the Federal Reserve moved to unclog the commercial paper market, which is widely used to fund day-to-day business by companies.

    The Dow Jones industrial average was up 56.63 points, or 0.57 percent, at 10,012.13. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 5.30 points, or 0.50 percent, at 1,062.19. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 10.03 points, or 0.54 percent, at 1,872.99.
