Wall St. ends lower on concerns about bailout



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks fell on Tuesday on fear that congressional wrangling could delay a proposed $700 billion financial sector rescue plan, increasing worries about the struggling U.S. economy.

    According to the latest available data, the Dow Jones industrial average was down 161.52 points, or 1.47 percent, to end unofficially at 10,854.17. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 18.89 points, or 1.56 percent, to finish unofficially at 1,188.20. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 25.64 points, or 1.18 percent, to close unofficially at 2,153.34.
