Microsoft to cut 7,800 jobs


    (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp said on Wednesday it would cut 7,800 jobs, mostly in its phone hardware business, to reduce costs and streamline its operations.

    The company also said it would record an impairment charge of about $7.6 billion related to its acquisition of Nokia's handset business.

    MICROSOFT (MSFT.NQ)said it would take a restructuring charge of about $750-$850 million.
