Wall Street ends up, breaks 6-day losing streak



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Wall Street stocks ended higher for the first time in over a week on Thursday, with the Dow and the S&P 500 rising 1 percent, but many analysts saw the rebound as short-lived.

    Based on the latest available results, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 75.42 points, or 0.63 percent, to end unofficially at 12,124.36. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 9.45 points, or 0.74 percent, to finish unofficially at 1,289.01. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 9.49 points, or 0.35 percent, to close unofficially at 2,684.87.
