Indexes end lower after early gains


    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks ended down on Monday as initial optimism about China's dedication to yuan flexibility faded.

    Based on the latest available data, the Dow Jones industrial average was down 8.23 points, or 0.08 percent, at 10,442.41. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 4.30 points, or 0.38 percent, at 1,113.21. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 20.71 points, or 0.90 percent, at 2,289.09.
