Wall St. follows global stocks higher


    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks rose on Wednesday, boosted by resource and financial shares, while investors were cheered by the Federal Reserve's renewed promise of extended low interest rates.

    * The Dow Jones industrial average added 28.50 points, or 0.27 percent, to 10,714.48. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index gained 3.88 points, or 0.33 percent, to 1,163.34. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 6.74 points, or 0.28 percent, to 2,384.75.
