Financials drag Dow, S&P 500 to session lows



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Dow and the S&P 500 dropped to session lows on Thursday as financial shares fell sharply heading into the market's close.

    * The KBW bank index fell 3 percent.

    * The Nasdaq turned negative, giving up gains it had accrued earlier from Comcast Corp's joint venture deal with General Electric Co .

    * The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 9.75 points, or 0.09 percent, to 10,442.93. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index dropped 0.45 of a point, or 0.04 percent, to 1,108.79. But the Nasdaq Composite Index gained 6.32 points, or 0.29 percent, to 2,191.35.
