Dow, S&P propped up by energy shares



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks cut losses, with all three indexes turning higher on Friday, boosted by energy shares that climbed alongside oil prices.

    The Dow Jones industrial average added 23.98 points, or 0.29 percent, to 8,192.10. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index gained 3.24 points, or 0.37 percent, to 876.05. The Nasdaq Composite Index edged up 1.48 points, or 0.09 percent, at 1,718.78.
