Iberia's hard work pays off
Iberia has doubled its operational earnings, making around 162 million euros in July, August and September and is expected to post more gains between now and the end of the year. By way of comparison, the airline made 74 million euros during the same time period last year.
Also performing well, the holding company that owns Iberia, International Airline Group (IAG), posted 694 million euros in earnings. While falling Brent crude oil prices have helped pad pockets in the airline industry in general, Iberia has worked hard to bring back profits in other ways, such as stiff cutbacks and productivity campaigns. Now we are starting to see the fruits of their labor.
