Star investment funds of 2013

After the Bank of Spain recommended limiting cash deposit interest rates to 1.7%, these investment funds became the star products of 2013. In the first three quarters, 146.782 billion euros were invested in these types of funds -- a 20% increase on the year.

This brings us to 2010 levels, although to get back to pre-crisis levels that figure needs to jump to 30%.

The banks have regeared conservative savings funds to these products. Even though they are not the most profitable, they do offer certain tax advantages and are transparent, which makes them more attractive and easy sells to clients.
