Ministry of Industry to trim tariff deficit

The power tariff deficit has risen to 28 billion euros and the Ministry of Industry is prepared, once again, to reduce it once again by trimming 4 billion in annual spending.

Most of the cuts will hit thermosolar and wind plants. They have complained about the legality of a tariff premium system while benefitting from it at the same time, which swelled their debt load to dangerous levels. The first priority is to cut the deficit, reduce total debt and pave the road toward an energy mix that is most efficient for both producers and end users.
