Unilever in talks to buy Alberto Culver: report



    PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - Unilever PLC is close to a deal to buy the Alberto Culver Co , The Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday.

    Terms of the deal were unclear. Alberto Culver has a market value of $3.1 billion and could fetch as much as $4 billion, the newspaper reported.

    Alberto Culver, which makes products such as TRESemme, Nexxus and Alberto VO5, could not be immediately reached for comment. Unilever also could not be immediately reached for comment.
