NY Fed factory index plunges


    NEW YORK (Reuters) - A gauge of manufacturing growth in New York State fell for the fourth consecutive month in February to its weakest level since April 2003, New York Federal Reserve said on Friday.

    The New York Fed's "Empire State" general business conditions index slipped to minus 11.72 in February from plus 9.03 in January. Economists polled by Reuters had expected a January reading of 6.00.
