Nasdaq hits session high; eBay leads


    NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Nasdaq rose to session highs, leading an abrupt turnaround in a choppy session on Thursday as strong earnings from eBay Inc helped boost the technology-heavy index.

    The Dow Jones industrial average gained 40.45 points, or 0.31 percent, to 13,073.20. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index gained 4.12 points, or 0.30 percent, to 1,389.26. The Nasdaq Composite Index gained 23.08 points, or 0.76 percent, to 3,054.53.
