Nasdaq drops 2 percent

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks fell on Wednesday, led lower by energy and technology stocks, with the Nasdaq down 2 percent as a sliding euro and rising Italian bond yields reflected persistent concerns about Europe's debt crisis.

The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 133.92 points, or 1.12 percent, to 11,821.02. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index dropped 15.85 points, or 1.29 percent, to 1,209.88. The Nasdaq Composite Index dropped 52.12 points, or 2.02 percent, to 2,527.15.
