Stock indexes tumble 2 percent



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks fell 2 percent and the S&P 500 entered a bear market on Tuesday as European officials considered making banks take bigger losses on Greek debt.

    The Dow Jones industrial average was down 241.50 points, or 2.27 percent, at 10,413.80. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 24.24 points, or 2.21 percent, at 1,074.99. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 34.67 points, or 1.48 percent, at 2,301.16.
