S&P, Nasdaq turn negative


    NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks trimmed gains shortly after the open on Monday with the S&P and the Nasdaq turning negative.

    The Dow Jones industrial average was up 9.27 points, or 0.08 percent, at 11,943.85. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 0.31 points, or 0.02 percent, at 1,268.14. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 4.80 points, or 0.18 percent, at 2,648.09.
