S&P 500, Nasdaq edge lower


    NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks hovered around breakeven on Monday, with the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq turning negative after a downgrade of Greece's credit rating and as investors were unconvinced the recent sell-off on signs of economic weakness had run its course.

    The Dow Jones industrial average gained 3.07 points, or 0.02 percent, to 11,954.83. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index dropped 1.41 points, or 0.11 percent, to 1,269.57. The Nasdaq Composite Index dropped 7.33 points, or 0.28 percent, to 2,636.41.
