Wall Street opens down on commodity weakness

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks fell at the open on Tuesday as a move higher in the dollar pressured commodity prices and investors weighed the potential for some consolidation in equities after a recent run-up.

The Dow Jones industrial average was down 10.52 points, or 0.08 percent, at 12,796.84. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index slipped 2.97 points, or 0.22 percent, at 1,358.25. The Nasdaq Composite Index was off 4.85 points, or 0.17 percent, at 2,859.23.
