Wall Street opens flat after recent gains

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks opened flat on Monday after posting two straight weeks of gains that drove indexes to new multi-year highs.

The positive sentiment has been helped by the Friday resignation of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, which eased tensions around the region.

The Dow Jones industrial average was down 27.24 points, or 0.22 percent, at 12,246.02. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 1.02 points, or 0.08 percent, at 1,328.13. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 0.89 points, or 0.03 percent, at 2,808.55.
