Wall St opens down after retail sales



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks opened down on Friday after weak retail sales dampened optimism about the economic recovery, while JPMorgan Chase & Co's results beat expectations.

    The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 31.56 points, or 0.27 percent, at 11,700.34. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 2.47 points, or 0.19 percent, at 1,281.29. The Nasdaq Composite Index dipped 5.59 points, or 0.20 percent, at 2,729.70.
