Wall Street falters after Philly Fed data



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Dow and S&P 500 fell on Thursday, giving up earlier gains after data showed factory activity growth plummeted in the U.S. Mid-Atlantic region in June.

    Separately, a gauge of leading indicators rose to a new peak.

    The Dow Jones industrial average slipped 31.07 points, or 0.30 percent, to 10,378.39. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was off 2.28 points, or 0.20 percent, to 1,112.33. The Nasdaq Composite Index added 1.47 points, or 0.06 percent, to 2,307.40.
