Wall Street tumbles on Europe concerns



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks tumbled at the open on Thursday on growing fears recent share declines triggered by euro-zone turmoil in the handling of the sovereign debt crises could lead to a wider correction.

    The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 178.20 points, or 1.71 percent, to 10,266.17. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index fell 22.16 points, or 1.99 percent, to 1,092.89. The Nasdaq Composite Index lost 48.21 points, or 2.10 percent, to 2,250.16.
