Stock futures up after payrolls


    NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stock index futures were higher after a government report on Friday showed nonfarm payrolls jumped far more than expected in April, but trading remained volatile after a sharp market slide in the last session.

    S&P 500 futures rose 5.7 points and were above fair value, a formula that evaluates pricing by taking into account interest rates, dividends and time to expiration on the contract. Dow Jones industrial average futures gained 31 points, and Nasdaq 100 futures added 4 points.
